Two female students from different schools in Nandi are doing their KCSE exams in Chepterit mission hospital and the Kapsabet County Referral Hospitals respectively. The female candidate from St Joseph’s Girls High School Chepterit is admitted at the Chepterit mission hospital due to sickness, while the candidate from St John’s Arwos Mixed Day secondary school sat her exams at Kapsabet County Referral Hospital where she was admitted to give birth.
Confirming the two incidences, the sub county directors in the two constituencies-Chesumei and Emgwen-said the two students are doing fine despite doing their papers in hospital. Education officers from other sub counties said the exams kicked off well as containers were opened on time and exams reached all the examination centers at the required time.
They affirmed that no transportation challenges have been witnessed as the rains have ceased. A total of 16,339 candidates, 8,069 boys and 8,056 girls, are sitting their exams in 245 examination centers in Nandi.
