Trans Nzoia County caught headlines after the release of the 2019 KCSE results after it emerged that St. Brigid’s Kiminini produced the tenth best candidate, Laura Chelagat Ruto. She scored an A plain of 84 points, and revealed she wants to become a neurosurgeon. However, other schools in the County also produced good results. The top school, St Brigid’s Kiminini had a mean score of 9.402, St. Anthony’s Boys High School Kitale had a mean score of 8.01, St. Joseph’s Boys High School had a mean score of 7.927, St. Patrick Secondary School had a score of 6.876, Boma Secondary School had a score of 6.850, St. Joseph’s Girls High School had a score of 6.7, St. Monica Girls High School Kitale had a mean score of 6.64.
Bwake Boys High School had a mean score of 6.452, St. Columbans Secondary School had a mean score of 6.200, St. Mark’s Girls had a mean score of 6.0, Kitale School had a mean score of 5.943, Goseta Boys High School scored 5.9, Kwanza Girls High School had a mean score of 5.88, Sinoko Secondary School had a mean score of 5.71 and St. Marks Boys High School had a mean score of 5.60 to close the top 15.
In Busia County, Butula Boys High School led the way with a mean score of 6.77, Sigalame Boys High School had a mean score of 6.65, Nambale Boys had amen score of 6.201, S.A Kolanya Girls Secondary school had a mean score of 6.084, Lwanya Girls Secondary School had a mean score of 5.6, S.A Kolanya Boys High School had a mean score of 5.483, St. Monica Chakol Girls High School had a mean score of 5.087, Apokor Mixed Secondary School had a mean score of 4.931.
Bumala AC Secondary School had a mean score of 4.9 and S.A Aboloi Secondary School had a mean score of 4.818, Burumba Secondary School had mean score of 4.558, St. Thomas Amagoro Girls Secondary School had a score of 4.396, Aterait Secondary School had a score of 4.276, St Paul’s Amukura High School scored 4.209 and St. Jacob’s Kaliwa Secondary School had a mean score of 4.165, closing the top fifteen schools’ ranking.
