The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) will be recruiting General Service Officer (GSO) Cadets, General Service Officer (GSO) Cadets (Undergraduate degree holders), specialist officers, general duty recruits, tradesmen/women and defence forces constable, with the recruitment exercise taking place on February 2021.
In an advertisement, the Ministry of Defence said those who will be willing to join the KDF must not engage in corrupt activities, or they will be arrested and prosecuted. “If you accept to be conned, you will lose your money or property and go to jail, it has happened to many citizens during past recruitments.”
The requirements that willing recruits must meet include; be a Kenyan citizen with no dual citizenship, be in possession of a valid Kenyan ID, 4 copies of IDs and a PIN certificate, aged between 18 and 26 years old for GSO cadets, general duty recruits and tradesmen/women, not above 30 years for specialist officers, tradesmen/women with Diploma and not above 3 years for chaplains/imams, be physically and medically fit according to KDF standards, have no criminal record, among others.
The KDF recruiting teams consisting of the Kenya army, Kenya air force and the Kenya navy will be visiting recruitment centers across the country. The itinerary for Western Counties is as follows; On Monday 8th February-Bungoma County( Bungoma North sub county at Mukuyuni), Kakamega County (Kakamega North sub county at Malava), Vihiga County (Vihiga sub county at Mbale).
On Tuesday 9th February-Bungoma County (Kimilili sub county at Kimilili), Kakamega County (Matete sub county at Matate), Busia County (Teso South sub county at Amukura), Vihiga County( Sabatia sub county at Sabatia).
Wednesday 10th February-Bungoma County (Bungoma East sub county at Webuye, Mt. Elgon sub county at Kapsokwony), Busia County (Nambale sub county at Nambale). On Thursday 11th February-Bungoma County (Bungoma Central sub county at Chwele), Kakamega County (Lugari sub county at Lumakanda) Busia County (Bunyala sub county at Budalangi) Trans Nzoia County (Kwanza sub county at Kwanza), Vihiga County (Hamisi sub county at Hamisi).
On Friday 12th February-Bungoma County (Bungoma West sub county at Sirisia), Busia County (Samia sub county at Funyula), Kakamega County (Navakholo sub county at Navakholo), Vihiga County (Emuhaya sub county at Emuhaya), Trans Nzoia County (Trans Nzoia West sub county at Kitale).
On Monday 15th February-Bungoma County (Cheptais sub county at Cheptais) Busia County (Butula sub county at Butula) Kakamega County (Kakamega Central sub county at Kakamega, Khwisero sub county at Khwisero), Trans Nzoia County (Endebess sub county at Endebess). On Tuesday 16th February-Bungoma County (Bungoma South sub county at Bungoma), Kakamega County (Kakamega East sub county at Shinyalu, Mumias West at Mumias) Trans Nzoia County (Trans Nzoia East sub county at Kachibora).
On Wednesday 17th February-Bungoma County (Webuye West sub county at Webuye) Kakamega County (Kakamega South sub county at Malinya, Matungu sub county at Matungu) Vihiga County (Luanda sub county at Luanda) Trans Nzoia County (Kiminini sub county at Kiminini).
