Students from Kemeloi Boys High School who lost their belongings after fire gutted down a dormitory on Tuesday night during evening studies have received mattresses and blankets and other necessities courtesy of the Nandi County government.
Speaking at the school grounds during his visit to deliver the items, Nandi Governor Stephen Sang asked parents to bring up their children in the right way to enable them be good citizens in the society. He said that the moral decay among a few students in schools has led to arson cases.
He gave out blankets, mattresses, bed sheets, towels and other requirements to the affected students urging the national government through the constituency development fund to chip in and assist to set up a new dormitory for the students. He also urged the government to consider reviewing the school’s infrastructure by improving it to accommodate the 100% transition target and ease congestion. Two students suspected to be behind the fire incident were arrested and are being interrogated.
