Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka has been cleared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission to vie for the Bungoma hotly contested gubernatorial seat in the August 9th General Election.
Speaking at the Bungoma IEBC offices, Lusaka said it has been a long journey and after listening to the residents of Bungoma County he decided to come back to seek their mandate to lead the County saying he has many fruitful plans for the County.
He thanked the Ford Kenya party through the party leader Moses Wetangula for having given him the chance saying he is going to empower residents of Bungoma to be economically stable.
“During the weekends and public holidays, business men and women will be exempted from paying taxes so as we help cushion them during these hard economic times,” he said
Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula said he has confidence in Lusaka’s candidature saying together with other Kenya Kwanza candidates they will work together to fulfill the people’s needs.
He further disclosed that Lusaka will be in charge of Campaign strategies for Kenya Kwanza in Western Kenya saying he is up to task to ensure they deliver votes.
Lusaka will be facing off with Zacharia Barasa (UDP) and the incumbent Wycliffe Wangamati (DAP-K) in the August polls.
