As development projects keep up, Kenya National Highways Authority (KENHA) is unveiling the Eldoret-Kitale-Lokichar-Amosing roads for pilot scheme. This section of the road will facilitate the movement of early crude oil and other goods and services as the Government of Kenya embarks on reconstructing the whole road. In line with the government’s commitment to p[rovision of safe, quality and adequate national trunk road network for sustainable socio-economic development for Kenyans and the region, the Kenya National Highways Authority has embarked on emergency works on the Eldoret-Kitale-Lokichar-Amosing section of South Sudan link Roads for Early Oil Pilot Scheme.
The project road which is 297Km traverses through the counties of Uasin Gishu, Trans Nzoia, West Pokot and Turkana, starting from Leseru Junction and transverses through Kitale, Marich Pass, Lokichar and ends at Amosing, 30Km from Lokichar.
The project road works is divided into seven (7) contract lots and is being implemented by Kenyan Contractors at a total contract sum of Kshs. 3.1 Billion.
