437 new Coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Kenya, taking the country’s total positive cases to 43,580. In a statement on Friday, the Ministry of Health confirmed 4,311 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, with cumulative tests conducted so far rising to 611,552.
Of the new cases, 253 are males and 184 females, while the youngest is a 4-month old child and the oldest is 95 years old.
8 more patients have succumbed to the virus, raising the fatalities to 813. Moreover, 140 patients have been discharged raising the total recoveries to 31,648. 72 of those discharged in the last few hours were from the home based care program while 68 are from different hospitals.
The distribution of the cases in the Counties is as follows; Nairobi 136, Nakuru 66, Kilifi 29, Kisumu 26, Uasin Gishu 21, Kericho 21, Embu 17, Busia 16, Kajiado 15, Migori and Machakos have 14 cases each. Kiambu 9 cases, Meru 9, Nandi 8, Bomet 6, Nyeri 5, Laikipia 5, Mombasa 5, Nyamira 3, Nyandarua 2, Elgeyo Marakwet 2, Turkana 2, Tharaka Nithi 2, Wajir 2, while Murang’a and Siaya have 1 case each.
