Kakamega County Kenya Kwanza candidates have decried harassment from police officers in the recent past.
Hadija Nganyi the UDA, Kakamega County Woman Representative being the latest victim claimed that the harassment was politically intrigued with an aim to deny them a chance to campaign at the last minute.
Speaking at her home in Joyland within the outskirts of Kakamega town, the woman MP candidate says that their competitors have sensed defeat and thus are conspiring with the police to harass them.
A court clerk and two police officers had arrived at her home with a warrant of arrest that claimed Hadija had not paid court charges worth millions of shillings in a case that she had sued the ODM party on nomination issues.
Hadija rubbished the warrant wondering why it had taken years to be implemented.
“Why this minute, the case was cleared years ago and we settled the same almost immediately, why should they come to arrest me and with a private vehicle?” Asked Hadija.
She claims that it could be an ill motive since the officers also lacked their job identification cards.
