Kenya one Harambee Stars player Patrick Matasi together with his family are receiving treatment at Kapsabet Referral Hospital after involving in a road accident at Lolduga along Kapsabet-Olessos road in Nandi.
Speaking to West Media at the facility, Nandi human rights watch chairman Mr Simion Cheruiyot who witnessed the accident at Olessos, said the private vehicle in which the casualties were travelling in lost control and plunged twice into the culverts along Olessos-Kapsabet road after one of the tyres burst.
Cheruiyot revealed that the number of passengers which were on board were many and they were injured including a one year old child, where they were given First Aid in one of the private hospitals at Olessos before being transferred to Kapsabet referral Hospital where they are being treated.
It is said that the player was heading to Nairobi with his family; his wife, child, relatives and the driver from Kakamega when they met the ugly accident at Olessos.
Cheruiyot said the residents of Lolduga in Olessos offered their helping hand in rescuing and is very grateful for the team work.
Kapsabet County Referral Medical Supretendant Dr Daniel Kemboi said the family is safe and are out of danger and that they will keep monitoring their situations.
