In efforts to enhance service delivery to customers, Kenya Power Company has embarked on a meter reading exercise that aims to ensure they capture data on status of meters across the County, an exercise that will be carried out in conjunction with National Youth Service.
Bungoma branch manager engineer Eric Langat says they have 135 thousand customers saying out of that 34 thousand are post paid while the rest are prepaid saying the data capture will give out the correct picture of sales within the County.
He therefore called upon the service men and women to ensure they carry out a credible exercise and be friendly to the customers saying they are projecting to complete the exercise after five weeks.
His sentiments were echoed by Daniel Omollo who said the exercise is being carried out nationally and called upon them who are in charge of Bungoma County to ensure the exercise moves on smoothly.
He said they have finished the exercise in Kisumu and have not encountered any hitches saying they are expecting the same outcome in Bungoma County.
