The Ministry of Health has announced 271 new Covid-19 cases out of a sample size of 3,746. This takes the total number of cases past the 30,000 mark, with cases now at 30,129. Cumulative tests done so far are 391,416. 170 of the new cases are males and 101 are females. 268 are Kenyans while 3 are foreigners, and the youngest is an 8 months old baby, the oldest being 86 years old.
686 patients have also recovered in the last 24 hours, 626 from the home based care and 60 from various hospitals. The total recoveries have now risen to 16,656. However, fatalities have increased to 474 after 2 more patients succumbed to the virus.
Nairobi County is still recording lots of cases, with 126 announced on Sunday. Busia County has 14 cases, Kirinyaga County has 14 cases, Machakos and Narok Counties have 12 cases each, Kiambu County has 11 cases. Kajiado, Kitui and Nakuru Counties have 10 cases each, Samburu and Garissa have 8 cases each. Mombasa County has 6 cases, Nyeri and Trans Nzoia Counties have 4 cases each, Taita Taveta and Lamu Counties have 3 cases each. Kakamega and Kisii Counties have 2 cases each, Bungoma, Kilifi, Makueni, Murang’a, Siaya have 1 new Coronavirus case each.
