The Ministry of health announced on Monday 431 people to have tested Covid-19 positive from a sample size of 5,281 tested in the last 24 hours. This now brings the total number of confirmed cases to 193,189 and the cumulative tests so far conducted are 2,059,193.
The positivity rate is now at 8.2%.
In terms of county distribution; Nairobi 256,Machakos 36,Kilifi 26,Nyeri 19,Nakuru 18,Kiambu 17,Mombasa 8, Kirinyaga 6,Meru 6, Kericho,Migori,Taita Taveta and Turkana 4 cases each,Siaya,Kisii and Embu 3 cases each,Kajiado,Kitui,Muranga,Tana River 2 cases each,Garissa,Kakamega,Narok,Nyandarua,Homa Bay and Kwale 1 case respectively.
The Ministry also confirmed 595 patients to have recovered from the disease with 542 from Home Bases Isolation and Care while 53 from various health facilities country wide.
This brings the number of total recoveries to 182,921.
Sadly, 8 patients succumbed to the disease, all of them being of late deaths reported after conducting facility record audits in the months of March and June 2021.
This pushed the total number of reported deaths to 3,783.
