The ministry of health announced on Thursday 837 people to have tested positive for the disease from a sample size of 7,545 tested in the last 24 hours.
The positivity rate is now 11.1%.
From the cases 797 are Kenyans while 40 are foreigners.
453 are males and 402 females.
The total confirmed positive cases are now 191,020 and cumulative testes so far conducted are 2,036,472.
In terms of county distribution; Nairobi 376,Mombasa 87,Nyeri 45, Kiambu 34,Kilifi 33,Nakuru 26,Siaya 23,Kajiado 21,Makueni 11,Laikipia 11,Kitui 10,Embuand Turkana 7 each,Nyandarua 6 ,Homa Bay 6,Elgeyo Marakwet 5,Garissa 5,Migori 5,Baringo 4,Bomet 4,Kakamega 4,Kwale ,Lamu,Marsabit,Meru,Narok,Isiolo,Taita Taveta and Tharaka Nithi 1 case each.
The ministry also announced that 430 patients have recovered from the disease with 272 from Home Based Isolation and Care program while 68 are from various health facilities country wide. This brings the total number of recoveries to 180,420.
Unfortunately, 9 patients have been reported to succumb to the disease.
All of them are late deaths reported after conducting facility record audits in the month of April,May ,June and July 2021.This now pushes the cumulative fatalities to 3,746.
