Kenya has recorded the highest number of Coronavirus recoveries in 24 hours after 97 patients recovered and were discharged. The number of recoveries now stands at 849. Speaking during the daily Covid-19 briefs on Monday, Health CAS Rashid Aman laded health workers who are on the front line, “We thank the healthcare workers for this achievement.” He said if the disease can be detected early it can be treated, and recovery is almost certain.
In the last 24 hours, 95 people have tested positive for the virus, bringing the total number of cases to 2,862. This is out of 1,096 tested samples. 92 of the new cases are Kenyans while 3 are foreigners. Mombasa lead with the new cases at 56-Mvita has 22, Changamwe 13, Nyali 7, Kisauni 6, Likoni 5 and Jomvu 3. Nairobi has 13 cases-Kibra has 10, Lang’ata, Kasarani, and Dagoretti North have 1 case each.
Busia County has 10 cases, 9 are truck drivers at the Malaba border point and 1 at Busia. Kajiado County has 6 cases-Kajiado Town has 3, Kajiado East 2 and Kajiado North 1. Nyeri has 3 cases, all health workers from Nyeri Central. Kilifi has 3 cases all from Kilifi North. Kitui, Kwale, Garissa and Marsabit Counties have 1 case each.
