Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda will host the finals of the African Cup of Nations in 2027.
The announcement was made on Wednesday in Cairo, Egypt, while the joint request of the East African countries beat that of Egypt, Botswana and Algeria, which withdrew from the competition.
CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe, made the announcement on Wednesday in Cairo, Egypt.
East African countries need at least two stadiums to host the tournament as well as other training grounds.
Algeria withdrew from the competition on the last day before the announcement, while Egypt, Senegal and Botswana struggled until the last minute, but their efforts were not successful when the East African nations were announced to host the finals.
Kenya has listed Nyayo, Kasarani and Kipchoge Keino stadiums, while Uganda intends to host the finals at Nelson Mandela, Nakivubo, Akii Bua and Hoima stadiums. Tanzania will host the matches at Benjamin Mkapa, Chamazi and CCM Kirumba Stadiums.
