While many Kenyans continue to suffer from various diseases and many other health challenges, they are now encouraged to switch back to their traditional foods that contain the minerals they need for good health and life longevity as opposed to the white and foreign foods that many have embraced.
This call was made by Dr. Njoki Wa Mitugo the Chief Executive Officer of the Natural Foods Research Center in Muguga areas in Kiambu County. Dr. Njoki said that the time has come for Kenyans to return to the foods that our ancestors used to consume without having health challenges.
Dr. Njoki, who spoke at a three-day conference on natural foods at the Institute of Agricultural Research – Curry in Muguga, Kikuyu Constituency, said that the adoption of food and drugs containing chemicals from foreign countries, especially China and other foreign countries is the source of the problems that Kenyans and even African continent in general is facing.
Dr. Njoki together with the Minister for Agriculture in Murang’a County, Prof. Kiringeri Wa Kamau, have urged Kenyans to refrain from hating their natural foods, especially the various vegetables that they said have the perfect solution to their health problems.
