Kenyans across the country have been called upon to unite as one family ahead of the referendum and the next coming general elections for the prosperity and development of this nation at large.
Speaking to journalists in Kapsabet town, Kapsabet diocese ACK Bishop Paul Korir said that it is evident that the nation will be conducting a referendum after the two houses of parliament and the senate passed the Building Bridges Initiative Bill.
Korir said that peace is what is needed most in our country for now thus urged Kenyans to avoid being divided or compromised with the BBI issue and instead unite and preach peace because life should continue with or without politics.
“Do not let the referendum issue divide you politically or ethnically” Korir insisted.
The Bishop added that as a clergy, they want to ask Kenyans to make peace with everybody by ensuring peace prevails during and after the referendum process.
He urged the Independent, Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to prepare a better option for Kenyans to exercise their democratic rights when need calls.
The Bishop revealed that Kenya is not ready to go back to skirmishes again as witnessed in the 2007/08 general elections thus everybody should uphold and maintain peace always for the betterment of the nation.
