Bishop Cornelius Korir of Catholic Diocese of Eldoret blamed Corruption and Tribalism as the major setback of development in the country
Korir has challenged politicians from across the political divide to be in the lead in fighting the two vices saying it’s the only way out to restore the nation.
Speaking after the Good Friday Mass in Eldoret, Bishop Korir reiterated on the need for concerted efforts in bringing to an end deep rooted corruption and tribalism saying the citizens should not allow the politicians to divide them.
“We need our leaders to help unite the nation and not divide them on tribal lines and even if we were united we will not do anything if corruption continues,” added Korir.
He urged Politicians from both sides to ensure they all unite and engage in the war against tribalism and corruption for the betterment of the country.
The Bishop further called on Kenyans to remain united and shun politicians who are out to divide them on political lines ahead of the 2017 polls.
“Whether you support Jubilee, CORD or any other political party, we all need to remember that we are Kenyans and politics should not divide us,” said Korir.

He further raised concerns over the ever rising number of unemployed youths across the country warning that hat if the unemployment matter is not looked into, the country might be headed for problems in future.
Bishop Korir urged both the National and County government to come up with mechanisms that will help create jobs for the youths.
He urged Christians to always emulate Jesus Christ by embracing forgiveness, adding that it’s the only way out for development.
“We need to be like Jesus he always talked about peace and forgiveness and by Kenyans emulating Him our country will be a peaceful nation,” said the Bishop.
