Kenya has recorded 148 new Covid-19 cases in 24 hours, from a sample size of 2,438. The total cases have now reached 36,724, with cumulative tests conducted so far at 511,614 as confirmed by the Health Ministry on Friday.
Of the cases, all are Kenyans except three who are foreigners. 105 are males and 43 are females, with the youngest being a 2-year-old and the oldest is 75-years old. The recoveries recorded have risen to 23,709, after 98 were confirmed in the last 24 hours. 46 were under the home based care program and 52 recovered in different hospitals. The number of deaths is now at 646 after 4 patients succumbed to the virus within the last day.
In the Counties, Mombasa leads with 40 new infections, followed by Nairobi with 32 cases, Laikipia has 15, Kiambu has 11, Nakuru and Embu have 7 each, Uasin Gishu and Kajiado have 6 cases each. Taita Taveta and Kisumu have 5 cases each, Kitui 4, Trans Nzoia 3, Baringo, Elgeyo Marakwet, Kwale, Machakos, Kericho, Makueni and Murang’a have 1 case each.
