President Uhuru Kenyatta has urged Jubilee leaders to mobilize voters for the upcoming elections, “Today I don’t recognize Kabogo, or Waititu,” he said, “Today I don’t recognize Sonko or Sakaja, all of them are equal,” he said, concerning Jubilee leaders, “All of them should go to the grassroots and look for members and votes,” a clear message to all Jubilee leaders and members. He said this at the launch of the Jubilee membership smartcard in Kasarani, Nairobi.
The president said Jubilee will hold fair and transparent nominations, “The will of the Jubilee membership will determine who will hold which position.” He urged the party members to not only mobilize voters, but also to spread the Jubilee agenda. He noted that some members are competing bitterly and urged them to compete fairly so as not to affect the greater good of the party, “Let’s compete in peace and respect,” he said, “When Jubilee forms the next government, those who would’ve failed to notch positions in the party will have positions in the government,” he added as he warned the party members to maintain order and be considerate.
President Uhuru Kenyatta insisted that unity is what will make them win, “It is unity that shall ensure our Jubilee agenda continues, it is unity that shall ensure there is peace and stability in our republic,” he said. He said that the task and work are just beginning, citing unemployment and the fight against poverty in the country among challenges.
