Trans Nzoia Governor Patrick Khaemba has warned some employees working in his administration to desist from acts of corruption that have affected his management, saying he will not support any employee in his administration who is found engaging in corruption.
He appealed to the residents to support him in fighting corruption in his administration by not supporting corrupt leaders, adding that some residents in the County have been supporting corrupt leaders, even though the funds they swindle doesn’t benefit them in any way. “I urge residents to remain vigilant and report any employee in my administration found engaging in corruption activities so that action is taken against them,” said Khaemba.
Governor Patrick Khaemba has also warned contractors who are doing a shoddy work that they may face dire consequences and has urged them to stop misusing the county’s funds.
Speaking at Chepchoina ward of Endebess constituency, Governor Khaemba said most contractors after having scooped several tenders, have been fleecing the County’s money by engaging in substandard projects which aren’t worth the cash allocated for them.
The county chief was infuriated with the poor construction of toilets at Chepchoina market, citing that they were constructed in a haphazard manner, “I warn the contractor to redo the work or we will terminate his contract,” he added.
The governor said several contractors have colluded to swindle county funds through the poor projects they set up and urged residents to report any contractor who doesn’t do his assigned work according to the set quality expectations.
