Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has hit out at COTU boss Francis Atwoli, insisting deputy President William Ruto will vie for the Presidency come 2022. Speaking at a Sunday service at Khwisero in Kakamega County during the visit of Deputy President Ruto that brought together several leaders from the region, Khalwale said Atwoli shouldn’t presume that the DP won’t be part of the race, “If your problem Atwoli is that you don’t like the Deputy President, then put your name on the ballot paper of vying for the Presidency of the republic of Kenya,” said Khalwale.
Khalwale further said that a few people want to plan the course of leadership in Kenya, “Some people are meeting, and say that they should arrange us so that, whether we like it or not we hand over the job to the late Moi’s son, Gideon….The second problem, they say, is to arrange among themselves, so that we give the son of the late Jaramogi Oginga Odinga the job,” he said, “They even go to the dias and try to persuade President Uhuru to continue in the Prime Minister’s position so that we share out these other seats.”
