Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has refuted claims by Senator Cleophas Malala that he is interested in his seat if the Senator loses his seat when expelled from ANC. Malala, in his address after the ANC disciplinary committee had suspended him said that ANC was planning to partner with Jubilee party and pit him against Khalwale in a by-election.
“I have enough intel that ANC party is in talks with Jubilee party to front Khalwale against me in a by-election. I’m ready for you Khalwale, bring it on,” said the Kakamega Senator.
However, speaking while attending the funeral of lawyer Albert Andambi, Khalwale refuted claims that he may be interested in the Senatorial seat, and warned the ANC party and Malala to keep him out of their tussles. “I am beyond parliament, I have been there for long,” he said “I’m not interested in the MP’s seat, the Senator’s seat or the President’s seat, but I’m waiting for my chance to steer Kakamega County as the governor,” said Khalwale.
