Residents of Kibisi village in Tongaren constituency, Bungoma County have been thrown into a state of disbelief after a woman killed her husband .The deceased, Ronald Simiyu Wekesa, is said to have been killed by his wife few minutes past 8 pm on Wednesday after arriving home from a drinking spree.
The scuffle is said to have ensued after the said assailant accused the man of stealing Kshs 1,000. They got into a fight and the wife hit the man with a blunt object. According to a neighbour, the wife had recently complained that Ronald had stolen her money but the allegations weren’t taken seriously, “However while I was in my house, my son Patrick Kakai came rushing…..he said that Ronald was dying in the house with deep cuts inflicted on his body inflicted all over his body,” she said, adding that she found the brutally injured body in a pool of blood. They took a motorbike to hospital but he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The mother to the deceased, Gertrude Wekesa, overcome by grief, said she was yet to come to terms with her son’s death .She advised couples especially women to just walk away when quarrels engulf their marriages.
The assistant chief madam Christine Wanjala said that she was informed of the incident by the village elder whom she instructed to take charge of the situation. She said they’ll seek justice for the deceased’s family. Residents intended to take matters into their own hands and attack the woman but she was whisked to Mbakalo police post and she was taken to Webuye police station, awaiting her appearance in court.
