Likuyani MP Dr. Enoch Kibunguchy has reiterated his commitment to ensure all public schools in his Constituency have good infrastructure and a conducive learning environment for the learners.
Speaking when he officially commissioned a storey administration block constructed by the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) at St. Peter’s Machine Girls Secondary school in Sinoko ward, Kibunguchy promised to prioritize education in his development agenda
“Education is the only equalizer that can put a child from a poor family on the same level with a President’s child and that is why my main agenda is education,” said Kibunguchy.
He said his aim was to ensure all schools in his Constituency offer a friendly environment to both teachers and learners thus improve academically.
The lawmaker said it hurt him to see children in the Constituency studying in dusty, windowless and leaking roofs in the name of classrooms and once elected to parliament, he undertook to provide the children with a conducive learning environment by eradicating mud walled classrooms.
“I can say without fear of contradiction that the kind of infrastructural development we’ve done in our schools for the time I have been the MP has not been witnessed before,” said Kibunguchy.
He said other schools that have benefited with construction of storey classrooms include Matunda SA Mixed Day secondary school and Machine Mixed Day secondary school in Nzoia ward.
We also have other coming up at St. Teresa Mukunga in Kongoni ward and Mary Lusweti secondary school in Likuyani ward,” said Kibunguchy
Apart from construction of new classrooms in public primary and secondary schools, Kibunguchy said there is also face-lifting of old schools going on.
