Likuyani MP Dr. Enoch Kibunguchy has donated a new school bus under the National Government Development Fund (NG-CDF) to St. Stephen’s Lwanda mixed day Secondary School in his constituency.
Addressing parents and other stakeholders at the school during the handing over ceremony, Dr. Kibunguchy said that the bus was intended to help the school by providing transportation services to learners while they participate in different sports, educational tours, and contests outside school.
“Through the NG-CDF, I am able to donate the new school bus to St. Stephen’s Lwanda secondary school in order to allow convenient transportation services for students and teachers during academic tours, contests, and athletic events that take place outside of school,” said Kibunguchy.
Challenging the students to take their education seriously for it is the best gift in life, Kibunguchy said that the school’s excellent performance was one of the motivating factors that made him donate the bus which was fully funded by the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) kitty.
He appreciated the school for posting good results in the last year’s KCSE examination by emerging second in the Constituency with a total of 48 students managing minimum university entry grades.
“I was motivated to donate the bus due to the school’s good performance. I, therefore, advise students to value their education and put in more effort in their studies to achieve academic excellence,” said Kibunguchy.
The MP noted that apart from St. Stephen’s Lwanda secondary school, he has lined up other Day secondary schools that will benefit with school buses.
He said the donation of the buses will improve academic performance in the schools besides assisting members of the local community who will hire the buses at a subsidized cost.
He pointed out that education is at the top of his development agenda, with the goal of ensuring that all schools in the Likuyani constituency thrive in academics.
He assured them that he is committed to ensuring that education standards in Likuyani improve by creating an enabling learning environment for both teachers and learners.
The St. Stephen’s Lwanda Secondary School Principal Nixon Odalo, lauded the MP for honoring his promise and promised the school will continue doing well in KCSE.
He said that last year the school managed to take 48 students to university, adding that this year he expects over 70 students will go to university
