Close to 1,000 candidates from Likuyani sub county who sat their KCSE examinations last year and scored the minimum university entry points will each be rewarded Kshs. 20,000 from the area MP. Dr. Enoch Kibunguchy.
Addressing residents of Likuyani ward in his constituency, Dr. Kibunguchy promised to reward all candidates who sat their examinations within or outside the sub county but are residents of his constituency. “As long as you are a resident of Likuyani regardless where you sat your examinations from and you managed to get C+ and above we will give you Kshs. 20,000 once you receive your university admission letter,” said Kibunguchy.
He said the cash will help them do shopping as they prepare to join university adding that this was also a way of motivating other candidates to do better in their final examinations.
Apart from the cash, Kibunguchy also promised to give laptops to all candidates who sat their examinations within the sub county and are residents of Likuyani, who managed to get grade B+ and above in last year’s KCSE examinations. “Our tradition over the years will still continue this year and all those who scored B+ and above will each get a laptop from Dr. Kibunguchy and his family,” said the MP.
Elsewhere, Kibunguchy advised candidates who didn’t manage to score grades that would enable them join university to join other tertiary colleges promising to support those who will join Kongoni Technical Training Institute which is set to be officially opened on 4th April, 2020.
