The Member of Parliament for Kibwezi West Hon. Mutuse Eckomas Mwengi is set to present a motion in Parliament to remove Deputy Dresident Rigathi Gachagua from office this afternoon.
Among the offenses listed against the Deputy President is failure to promote the unity of all communities in Kenya, making speeches that isolate some communities in the country. The second offense is failure to fulfill his duties as the Principal assistant to the President by violating section one of article 147 of the constitution of Kenya and section one of article 152 of the constitution of Kenya.
The third allegation against the second in command contained in the motion is interfering with the functioning of the County Governments citing evidence here the Deputy President is said to have interfered with the functioning of the County Government of Nairobi.
The fourth allegation is that the Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has violated the constitution by interfering with the functioning of the judicial department by attacking Judge Esther Maina of the high court of kenya while the fifth allegation in the motion to remove the Deputy President from office is that the speeches and actions of the Deputy President are not compatible with the third and fifth articles of the constitution of Kenya.
The motion to remove the Deputy President from office is expected to be presented to parliament this Tuesday afternoon.
