Construction of a modern bus park, and a magnificent trading center in Kimilili town of Bungoma County is on course after a World Bank funding of 159 million to the projects.
Kimilili Municipal manager John Ndombi lauded the World Bank for funding saying it will ascend the town to the next level in development having been identified as a municipality.
He disclosed that traders on the Kimilili open air market were facing challenges especially during rainy and sunny seasons adding that a possible solution has been established.
He disclosed that on completion the project will be handed over to Bungoma governor Wycliffe Wangamati then traders allowed to start operating saying the market has its own leadership that was put in place and came up with a policy that will govern traders to oversee the stalls allocation.
However, Jenifer Amutala one of the traders at Kimilili market faulted the Bungoma county government for imposing high taxes on small business operators like her saying they cannot manage having been earlier promised by the governor that the fee will be waived.
