Kimaeti Ward MCA Jack Wambulwa has called on Trans Nzoia County Governor George Natembeya to show respect for the Speaker of the National Assembly, Moses Wetangula, a prominent leader of the Western region.
Addressing journalists, Wambulwa emphasized that Natembeya should avoid unnecessary conflicts with other leaders in his pursuit of a national political seat. He noted that unity among leaders is crucial for the region’s development and urged Natembeya to focus on serving the people of his county rather than engaging in political rivalry.
“Governor Natembeya must understand the importance of respecting the leaders who were already established in the political field. Speaker Moses Wetangula is a leader with immense influence in the Western region, and we must all work together for the betterment of the people. I urge the Governor to refrain from making unnecessary political enemies in his pursuit of a national seat,” Wambulwa stated.
The MCA also addressed Natembeya’s recent comments regarding Wetangula’s decision to provide employment opportunities. Governor Natembeya had questioned if Wetangula has offered job opportunities to residents of the Western region, a remark that has sparked debate among local leaders.
“While I respect Governor Natembeya’s position, I believe we must acknowledge the efforts of leaders like Speaker Wetangula in creating opportunities for our people. The focus should be on how we can all work together to create even more opportunities, rather than casting doubts on the existing ones. Remember, Wetangula is a national leader, and wherever he gets an opportunity, he divides it across the country, not just confining it to Bungoma or Trans Nzoia people only,” Wambulwa remarked.
