A number of Kimilili residents who were not previously enjoying electricity access will soon be basking under the much coveted electricity connection after area MP Didmus Barasa launched the last mile connectivity in the area. Speaking at Nasianda village, in the company of KPLC officers and the contractor in charge of the project, he said many residents will be connected. He urged residents to allow the power posts to be erected in their farms, saying it will enable many residents to benefit, and called upon the contractor to assign the tasks to the locals.
The contractor assured the residents of a speedy delivery, saying if they cooperate well, they’ll have electricity access in their homes within a month. Moreover, the Kimilili MP cautioned the youths against engaging in crime related activities, saying action will be taken against anyone who’ll be impounded. He revealed that a gang that has christened itself ‘seventeen brothers’ has been terrorizing residents for a long time and called for vigilance on the part of the police to protect the residents.
