The DAP-K candidate in Kimilili Constituency, Brian Khaemba in the past August polls has been slapped with Ksh 2.7 million in the case he petitioned against MP Didmus Barasa.
The petitioner, Brian Khaemba accused Barasa for using public resources to campaign and engaged in violence.
The two petitions were dismissed by Justice Mary Kasango of Bungoma High Court saying Khaemba failed to demonstrate how alleged violence and use of government vehicles during campaigns affected the outcome of the results.
According to Justice Kasango, the above matter was to be handled by IEBC.
Khaemba is to pay Barasa Sh1.1 million as IEBC and the Kimilili Returning officer each be paid Sh0.8 million.
