Boda boda operators from Kimilili Constituency and Mt Elgon have appealed to the national and county government to intervene and rehabilitate the Kaptola-Kimilili road that heads to Dreamland hospital which is in bad condition and has contributed to many accidents especially when it rains. “Keep in mind that it always rains in Mt Elgon because of the highlands,” said one of the residents.
They said many expectant mothers have lost their lives before reaching the hospital due to the bad road. They have also urged the area MP Didmus Wekesa Barasa to step in and help saying the facility accommodates many patients.
The management of the hospital said that the number of sick people visiting the facility has also reduced due to the fear surrounding Covid-19, and further urged mothers to take their children for immunization.
