Kitale police launch a probe after body of a woman is found dumped by the roadside

Police in Kitale are investigating an incident where the body of a middle-aged woman was found dumped at a roadside at Bondeni village, Tuwani Ward in Trans Nzoia County. Confirming the incident, Trans Nzoia County police  commander Frederick Ochieng noted that the incident might have happened due to a relationship disagreement between the deceased, Elizabeth Wanyonyi, and her lover, revealing that the relationship wasn’t good.

The deceased’s body was found by a passer by mutilated, and half naked. The resident then informed the area assistant chief Jacqueline Sitoya who reported the incident to the police officers. They moved the body to the Kitale level four hospital mortuary.

In another incident, the chairman of the boda boda operators at Municipality, David Magero, was involved in an accident. The chairman was knocked down by a Toyota Prado allegedly belonging to Kapenguria MP Samuel Moroto, and died on the spot. A traffic snarl up followed along the Kitale-Eldoret road after boda bkda operators attacked the car’s driver and wanted to set the vehicle ablaze. Police officers arrived at the scene and dispersed the crowd.
