Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) Busia Campus, which is the brainchild of Busia County Government, has opened its doors for the first batch of 53 Clinical Medicine students.
The College Principal Dominic Ndombi said nursing students will be admitted in March 2017, adding that majority of them will be those on a parallel basis.
Ndombi said the advertisement for those wishing to join classes in March 2017 was published on local media platforms last Friday and on Wednesday.
“I advise those interested in pursuing Nursing or clinical courses to obtain further information on the KMTC website. The college is now at your doorstep, take advantage of that gesture,” he said.
Busia is the first County among 47 in the Country to build its own KMTC. Governor Sospeter Ojaamong said the institution will be a big boost to the people of Busia.
“Since health institutions in the County are experiencing staff shortage, it will be easier to acquire personnel straight from the college to offer services to county residents. Busia County is not poor when it comes to resources. The KMTC will add to the resources the county needs for development,” he said.
