The Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) has launched an official sensitization programme on the upcoming census this August. The personnel recruitment process is done and dusted and training is ongoing. Speaking at the launch at Uhuru Park, Nairobi, Planning PS Saitoti Torome affirmed that this year’s census will be digital, with less paperwork evident during the exercise, building on an earlier update.
Kenyans have been encouraged to comply with the census personnel. KNBS Director General Zachary Mwangi said all citizens should cooperate since one of the vital aspects of the census is to ensure the required distribution of resources is attained, “So, where you live is where you’ll get the services. We encourage Kenyans to be counted.”
