The Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) members from across Nandi have been asked to turn up in large numbers this coming Saturday to vote for their union leaders.
In an interview with the acting first National trustee chairman of Knut Mr Stephen Misoi who is also the current executive secretary for Nandi south sub- county, said Knut elections for Nandi county branch have been slated for Saturday 23rd.
Misoi has asked teachers who are members of the union to come up in large numbers during various KNUT elections and vote for their leaders urging them to make wise choices on who to elect. He added that KNUT has done a lot for teachers to ensure they get medical cover, maternity leave and various salary increments that has been done fully in negotiations.
The unionist revealed that teachers are enjoying leave allowance and that all their needs will be addressed accordingly.
On the issue concerning the KNUT crisis, Misoi said the problem will soon be over and assured teachers not to panic.
“The current crisis experienced in Knut will soon be over and teachers should not panic at all as it will recover to its original glory” He affirmed.
The legislator confirmed that the Kenya Union of teachers will continue to work and ensure all the teachers grievances in this nation are negotiated with the employer and the government of the day.
He revealed that all the union members in Nandi are in support of their secretary general Mr. Wilson Sossion and will rally behind him as far as KNUT issues are concerned.
