Kongoni Member of the County Assembly in Likuyani Sub County, Kakamega County Josphat Kititi Mwasame has asked his electorates to register with the National Hospital Insurance Fund so that they can access treatment in various hospitals in the country once they fall sick.

Speaking at Nangili in his ward, Mwasame expressed confidence that NHIF is an affordable insurance medical scheme which can enable the locals to get treatment suffering from various diseases which need special attention.

Mwasame regretted that many sick people are dying because they can’t afford unprecedented medical bills associated with terminal diseases like cancer. He said registered persons with NHIF can access specialized treatment in various hospitals spread in the country.

“I plead with you, my people, to register with NHIF so that you can be treated in big hospitals when suffering from various complications,” said the MCA.

He said NHIF is crucial mostly when one is admitted in a hospital which results in huge medical bills.
