Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has announced that all candidates who scored C plus of 46 points and above will join University under government sponsorship. In a statement released by KUCCPS, all students, 70,073 in number, who scored C plus will be able to apply for degree courses, as long as they meet the cluster points of the course. According to the CEO John Muraguri, all candidates who scored C minus of 32 points will be eligible for placement to pursue diploma courses offered in tertiary institutions.
The students who scored a mean grade of D of 18 points and above shall be eligible for placement to craft certificate courses offered in tertiary institutions. The council said they’ll open its online application system for first revision on Wednesday, January 24th, 2018 to February 14, 2018. The first revision is also open to those who didn’t fill their courses in their respective secondary schools.
Reforms in the education sector have led to a drop in the number of students who are joining universities. However, the cut grade will hopefully pave the way for more students to join universities, more than the number that was first expected by some.
