Cherangany MP Joshua Kutuny has reiterated that leaders from Rift Valley have started putting mechanisms in place to ensure Deputy President William Ruto ascends to power in 2022. Addressing residents in his constituency, Kutuny challenged opposition outfit NASA to put their house in order, and prepare to face Deputy President Ruto in the next general elections instead of engaging in political dramas and narratives. “As the opposition is moving around the streets urging their supporters to disrespect the legally constituted government under President Uhuru Kenyatta, we on the other side are laying down plans to ensure DP Ruto scoops the presidency in 2022,” he said.
He termed Raila Odinga’s oath ceremony as a mere fallacy that was intended to hoodwink supporters and give them hope that he is their president, though he isn’t recognized in that capacity by the constitution. He said Raila has resorted to tactics that seek to give him popularity after finding out his status has reduced after President Uhuru Kenyatta’s election, “Raila has resorted to dramatic tactics, and he is trying to make his supporters trust and hope in him. He is like an enchanter who gives hope to the sick whenever they visit him for treatment, but he is unable to tell them the truth,” said Kutuny, amidst laughter from the crowd.
