Different leaders from Bungoma County are sending their condolence messages to the family of former Lwandanyi ward Member of County Assembly Nathan Obwana. Nathan Obwana perished in a tragic road accident at Marakaru along the Bungoma-Chwele road on Saturday where a Nissan he was in was hit by a lorry.
Led by Khalaba ward MCA Henry Majimbo, he said that Obwana was a leader who was hardworking and contributed a lot in the assembly during the time he was representing Lwandanyi people. He also revealed that he will be missed by many. “May I take this chance to send my condolence message to the entire family of Mzee Obwana who we worked with during the period of 2013-2017 when he was representing Lwandanyi ward. Obwana was so supportive in decision making in our county. As ODM, we are going to ensure that we give him a decent send-off,” he added.
Former Kamukuywa MCA Moses Opicho noted Obwana as a leader who was conversant with his work especially when it came to representing his people by ensuring that they get what they required and what was good for them. “I received news of passing on of Obwana with great shock. I worked with brother Obwana in the first County assembly in the County government of Bungoma, and he was such an outgoing leader. It is my prayer that God strengthens his family during this time of grief,” stated Opicho.
Former nominated MCA Mary Namaswa said that Obwana was dedicated to his work and stated that he really had great support in money matters in the assembly due to his experience in financial issues. “I express my sincere condolences to the family of our colleague Obwana, I remember as we were in the county assembly, he used to give advice on financial matters since he had experience of working in the bank. He was gentle and had few words,” confirmed Ms. Namaswa.
