Politicians seeking elective positions in Sirisia Constituency and the entire Bungoma County have been urged to maintain peace and avoid divisive politics that may create a rift among the people.
Addressing Kibindoi people in a function, area Member of County Assembly Tony Khaoya Barasa said violence politics is outdated urging his fellow aspirants to practice peaceful politics.
“Everyone has a right to move around and convince voters to accept their manifestos, and I want to appeal to my people of Lwandanyi Ward to listen and assess all aspirants so that we get development minded leaders,” said Barasa.
He called upon the area MP John Koyi Waluke to fulfill the promise he gave to the community of Machakha Secondary School in the year 2019 on purchasing of a new bus using CDF funds something that has never happened.
“I know our MP is very busy but I just want to remind him about the promise he gave, we have been hearing the hearsay that the bus was delivered at the Port of Mombasa some years back up to now the school has not received it,” he stated
On the other hand, Sirisia Constituency aspirant on Ford Kenya ticket Kasembeli Nasiuma, condemned the incident that happened at the funeral of Mzee Kawa in Butonge village where several youths were injured.
“I came from Namutokholo market and some youths with motorcycles were following me throwing stones at my vehicle, I felt sorry if this is the kind of politics we want to do, it is shameful,” Kasembeli wondered
He urged the National Government through CDF kit to focus on youths who have trained in technical institutes to get employment, alleging that most of the CDF offices have been hiring contractors from outside the Constituency leaving youths in despair.
