The cabinet secretary for Water and Irrigation Eugene Wamalwa has urged the Luhya leaders to get back to the drawing board in bid for winning the 2017 state house race.
Speaking during a fund drive at Luanda PEFA church in Kabuchai constituency, the CS cited that the old Luhya unity has evaporated among many Western region leaders leaving few who are dreaming for their own affairs.
Wamalwa cautioned them against trying to divide the Luhya community on the bases of the parties.
“Leaders have lost their way and they need to come together and sit to the same table to build the house of the Luhya people.” The CS said.
The CS noted that although it may not be easy to produce one person to be a flag bearer, he urged the side of ford Kenya led by Bungoma county senator Moses Wetangula and the New Ford Kenya led by governor Lusaka to refrain from their differences and unite the people.
He appealed to the Kenyan citizens to give time to Jubilee administration humble time to deliver more, citing the slow pace of procurement process that is hindering the fast service delivery to them.
The CS said the national government is going to invest more in the key industries found in Western region to help its people contribute to the grow region’s economy.
Education
On education matters the CS promised that the government has planned to put a university in every county of Western part of Kenya to set up economic biller for the citizen.
The CS said his ministry has planned to open a mega project of water worth six hundred million Kenyan shillings in Kabuchai constituency come June, “Tarmac of roads across the region is part of the services that the national government is doing, the CS added.
Bungoma county governor Kenneth Lusaka urged the leaders to respect each other and work for the welfare of their people.
Lusaka assured the Bungoma residents that his administration has put agriculture as a first priority, according to him the process of distributing subsidized fertilizer for top dressing has already begun.
Other leaders who accompanied the two were, Bungoma county member of national assembly Reginalda Wanyonyi, Kabuchai MP James Mukwe, Navakholo MP Emmanuel Wangwe, Ikolomani MP Bernard Shinyali and Mumias East’s Benjamin Washali who appealed to the Ford Kenya leader and Bungoma county Moses Wetangula to ditch from CORD and unite with other Luhya leaders to win presidential bid.
