Learning at Central Primary School in Saboti Constituency in Trans Nzoia County has been interrupted following a heavy down pour accompanied by strong winds that blew away four classroom rooftops while injuring two grade three students. The pupils were rushed to hospital and are undergoing medication.
The Board of Management chairman Wycliffe Lugaria said the heavy rainfall affected four classrooms and more than 150 pupils who were in school preparing for their grade three exams.
Lugaria confirmed that the injured students are undergoing treatment after they suffered slight injuries. He has urged well wishers as well as the CDF office to chip in and help to restructure the classrooms, so that learning can continue.
Tuwani MCA Bernard Wambwa was at the school and promised that the County administration will offer assistance, and also urged well wishers to help to ensure normal service is resumed. He, however, cautioned contractors against doing shoddy jobs whenever they are contracted, claiming some buildings constructed in the area are a result of poor work.
