Leicester City are now the leaders of the English Premier League table after forcing Chelsea to concede another defeat. Brendan Rodgers’ side displaced Man Utd to second after securing a clear 2-0 win over the blues yesterday night.
Chelsea had earlier on struggled to get a win against 10 men Fulham on Saturday after Fulham’s Antonee Robinson was red carded in the 44th minute of the game for committing a dangerous foul on Cesar Azpilicueta. They now sit at the 8th position of the table.
Leicester’s first goal was banked by Wilfred Ndidi in the 6th minute assisted by Harvey Barnes, while the second goal was placed by James Madison, who was assisted by Marc Albrighton. The blues had hoped for a penalty during the game when Jonny Evans brought down Christian Pulisic but all was in vain after the VAR confirmed otherwise.
Chelsea had dominated the game during the second half, with Frank Lampard hoping for a come-back win only to be disappointed by a goal from Madisson that sealed up everything for the current league leaders.
Chelsea have continued to struggle under Lampard this season. What is left for the current boss that the Blues had high hopes for…only time will tell.
