As the nation prepares for the General Elections, the people of Western region particularly Bungoma County at large have been called upon to maintain peace and avoid divisive politics.

Bungoma County gubernatorial candidate Kenneth Lusaka’s running mate Mrs. Jennifer Mbatiany, has urged the residents to avoid all candidates who may front them to cause mayhem.

“I want to caution our people especially youths let’s be sober when making decisions, some time we can be manipulated by ill minded people to make bad decisions that may cost our lives or even land us into permanent problems.” She said.

Mrs. Mbatiany who was speaking at Kaprot village in Sirisia Constituency, also encouraged the residents to exercise well their democratic right by electing development minded leaders who will take this County to the next level without being bribed.

She faulted the current County Government regime for allegedly mishandling the public resources and launching elephant projects that have stalled.

“The current government of Bungoma has really failed our people, they have invested in projects that have stalled and may not be fruitful to tax payers,” Mbatiany lamented.

On other hand, Lwandanyi Ward Member of County Assembly Tony Barasa pointed out the projects he has delivered to the people during his tenure despite facing opposition from the County Government.

Hon. Barasa who is also seeking for re-election as Lwandanyi MCA on Ford Kenya party ticket drummed support for his Kenya Kwanza Alliance, urging the people of this County and the entire Western region at large to elect the Deputy President Dr.William Ruto on his presidential bid.

“I want to urge our people that it’s time we are having another opportunity to make decisions on leaders we want, let’s not make a mistake by electing bad leaders who will for the next five years.” Said Barasa.
