Likuyani sub county police commander Boniface Lisiolo has urged the area residents to cooperate with security agents to assist enhance security.
Speaking during a public baraza on security held at Nzoia village in Sango sub location following the murder of a 65-year-old woman and her niece early this week, Lisiolo expressed concern over escalating cases of insecurity in the area.
The police boss reiterated that the resident should be committed to promoting security arguing that it was incumbent upon them to tip security agents on bad elements in their midst. “Security concerns cannot be abdicated to the central government alone,” he said adding that residents had a central role to play.
At the same time, Lisiolo instructed police officers to intensify their patrols and intelligence gathering to control insecurity in the area.
However, he assured the residents of their security reiterating that the government was committed to ensuring all citizens enjoyed uninterrupted peace and tranquility.
At the same time Lisiolo disclosed that police were working on a crucial information on key suspects behind the murder of Jerusa Nduvi Obware and her niece Melvyn Ndidi warning that no one will escape the law. “The police have made tremendous progress in investigations,” he said.
