Health workers drawn from different sectors are set to down their tools come Friday this week due to what they refer to as the national government and the County governments not listening to their cry.
According to the leaders of different associations of health, led by the chairman of their health umbrella Mr. Peterson Wachira and their Secretary General Mr. George Gibore told the press on Tuesday that their strike will start early mornings of Friday the 14th July 2023.
In their statement to the press they urged the public to seek medical services from the private hospitals.
They lamented that their efforts to have a peaceful conversation with the national government and the council of governors did not bear fruits. They say the effort included giving a 60 day ultimatum a move that their employer never bothered to respond to.
Amongst their demands include salary increment allowances and better working environment as it is enshrined in the agreement document that they signed together with the government commonly known as CBA. They are demanding that the agreement be fully implemented.
