According to statistics in the ministry of education, Lugari Sub County managed to beat only two out of the 12 sub counties in Kakamega County in the 2015 national examination.

The county chief of staff appealed to education officers, teachers, parents, elected leaders and other stakeholders to organize for a fact finding meeting aimed at identifying challenges facing the sector, “so that we can collectively intervene and seek lasting solutions thereafter bolster our academic sector,” he said.

The official encouraged parents from the area to heavily invest in academics of their children, citing education as the only important property children can inherit from parents in the modern time.

He pointed out that both national and county governments should only employ persons who met academic specific qualifications for specific job descriptions.
