The police department has deployed a Land Cruiser vehicle to Mlimani police post in Mautuma location in a bid to enhance security in the area. In a brief ceremony presided over by Lugari Member of Parliament (MP) Ayub Savula at Panpaper ground, area Officer Commanding Police Division (OCPD), Bernard Macharia, led the Sub County security team in officially handing over the vehicle to the post, which is currently under Turbo police station.
Turbo Officer Commanding Station (OCS), Mrs. Claire Makokha received the Land Cruiser on behalf of the station.
“The Land Cruiser will buttress security measures put in place by my department as we enhance to bring down crime incidents almost rocked several parts in Lugari location,” noted Macharia, who singled out Marakusi village as the worst hit by cases of robbery with violence, rape and defilement a month ago.
Reiterating efforts to boost security, the OCPD expressed satisfaction over improved security in the village since the government deployed two sniffer dogs to the Sub County a fortnight ago.
The Sub County police boss assured the locals of enhanced security during this Christmas and New Year celebrations, but at the same time cautioned them against over indulging in revelling.
“We have put enough security measures during this festive season,” said Macharia. Savula hailed the national government for providing adequate security to his constituents.
“The police department brought us sniffer dogs just two weeks ago and now the same government has released a patrol vehicle to Lugari location,” noted Savula.
He urged the locals to closely work with security organs in order to completely root out criminal gangs in the area.
